In 3 weeks time Sam is about to become a dad, but before the big day, Keeley dragged him to their first antenatal class. Now, Sam thought it was just a quick hour-long tour of the hospital. Spoiler alert: It was six hours.

The Hospital Tour

Sam’s first clue something was off? The tour lasted way longer than expected. “Here’s where you’ll be pacing while I’m in labor,” the nurse cheerfully said. Sam tried to smile, internally calculating how many hours he would potentially be in that room.

Pain Relief 101

Next up: Pain relief. Keeley was all ears, but Sam wasn’t sure if he could handle the deep dive into gas, air, and water births. He tried to joke, “Can’t they just give you a parcetamol and you push it out quick?" The nurse wasn’t having it.

Breastfeeding—Wait, What?
Finally, the breastfeeding session. Sam’s takeaway? “So, there’s a lot more to it than just holding the baby and hoping for the best?” Keeley nodded like a pro. Sam? Not so sure.

Sam’s Big Reveal

By the end, Sam was drained—mentally and physically. “I thought it was an hour’s worth of ‘Here’s how to breathe,’” he admitted. But one thing’s for sure: Keeley’s ready for the big day, and Sam… well, he’s learning.

A Bit of light hearted Banter for the already taken lads.

In a hilarious twist on the classic "Take Me Out" dating show, The bald builders encourage builder "Posh Brad" and Camera Man Ben into the porter loo they describe as a construction site "Love Lift" to see if they could win the hearts of the ladies. The catch? They had to impress the women without the usual glits and glam of a TV dating show.

The "Love Lift," set up outside Bald Builder Brads current house under construction is far from your usual swanky lift scene. It’s a no-frills, no-fuss kind of affair. Think exposed pipes, a faint smell of fresh cement, and a few more laughs than romantic sparks. Still, the premise is simple: step in, meet the ladies, and try your best to avoid the dreaded "No likey, no lighty!" moment.

Introducing the Players:

1. "Posh Brad" – A builder with more style than the average contractor. With a pair of thermals under a pair of shorts (still not sure on this choice of get up!). Brad’s got the charm but does he have the moves to win over the ladies?

2. Camera Man Ben – The guy behind the lens, known for being quick with a camera but maybe not so quick with his words when it comes to impressing the opposite sex. But hey, a man behind the camera knows how to frame the perfect shot, right? Lets see how he shoots this shot.

As they stepped into the Love Lift, the tension was palpable. Would Posh Brad’s suave approach and Camera Man Ben’s awkward charm be enough to win over the ladies standing in judgment? 

The Lift Opens… 

Posh Brad was first to take the floor, gets the job done.

Ben, on the other hand, was a bit more low-key, mumbling something about his camera.

It was a fascinating experience that gave us a deeper understanding of the process, innovation, and craftsmanship that goes into producing these essential heating systems.

A Warm Welcome at Intergas UK

From the moment we arrived at Intergas UK, we were greeted with enthusiasm and professionalism from Ryan and the team at Intergas UK. The company has been a leader in the heating industry, known for its highly efficient, durable, and environmentally friendly heating solutions. As soon as we stepped into their facility, it was clear that this was a company dedicated to innovation and quality.

The team at Intergas took us through the entire process—everything from the early stages of design and engineering, to manufacturing and distribution. It was incredible to see how advanced their technology is and how they prioritise energy efficiency in every step of production.

The Heart of Boiler and Heat Pump Manufacturing

One of the most exciting parts of the tour was seeing how Intergas designs and manufactures their boilers and heat pumps. These are no ordinary systems. Intergas is known for its high-efficiency models that not only save homeowners money on their energy bills but also reduce their carbon footprints. It was great to see how each and every cylinder is handmade to order for customers specification.

What stood out to us the most was the company’s dedication to sustainability. This forward-thinking approach is exactly what we want to see in the industry, especially as we continue to move toward greener and more sustainable building practices.

The Bald Builders, Kev and Bill: A Day Full of Banter and Brews

We didn’t go to Intergas UK alone. This time, we brought along 2 special guest—Kev, our hyper, outgoing friend and Gas Heating Engineer from London. Kev, who owns the highly regarded Elsby Engineering, has a reputation for being the life of the party—and he did not disappoint!

Kev's infectious energy and expertise in the heating industry brought an extra layer of excitement to the trip. As a professional who works on the ground installing heating systems day in and day out, Kev’s insight into the products we were seeing was invaluable. 

We were also joined by Bill, a friend of Kevs, and a highly knowledgeable character who specialises in sustainable heating and heat pumps. Bill owns his own company, Sustain Heat, and is a true expert when it comes to creating eco-friendly heating solutions.

Bill and Kev couldn’t resist a bit of friendly competition during our visit—the challenge? To pre-plumb a cylinder each! These two are always up for a bit of banter and a challenge, and watching them go head-to-head was a real treat. With Bill’s expertise in green tech and Kev’s hands-on experience, the friendly rivalry made for some entertaining moments and some serious plumbing skills on display. Both great guys, and it was fantastic to see them push each other to be the best while having a laugh along the way!
